Why are poeple so stupid?

I am not a cop or any other sort of law enforcer...BUT I cannot stand people who know they did something illegal but insist on fighting tooth and nail to get out of it...if you get a ticket then take responsibility! Are the majority of people stopped that dumb?

Its not neccesarily people being stupid, its more of not wanting to take responsibilty for doing something wrong.





If its not the cops "entrapping" folks, its us trying to hit a mythical quota, or its because pot is illegal when alcohol isn't, or because they are a minority (or a white male) or its all because of "revenue generating" tickets, blah, blah, blah....





The problem is that lots of people want laws enforced, just not on them. I've known some folks to literally pay hundreds of dollars to attempt (and sometimes win) to fight zero point tickets for $84..
Reply:Yes, and they think they're special. The laws apply to those other guys.
Reply:We have laws (ie a judicial system) based on contention, - and we invoke that by being innocent until proven guilty, - and exercising our rights by expecting the prosecution to prove their case.





Is that so dumb?
Reply:Even if you are guilty there is a chance that you can get away with it, choosing to try and avoid punishment rather than accepting it thus seem like a more intelligent choice .
Reply:Sometimes, there should be exceptions to the rule.. I could see myself fighting to get out of something, even if I technically broke the law, if I felt forced into that situation.. This question isn't specific enough to answer properly..





Edit: What I'm saying is that you COULD be speeding for a reason.. If your wife is in labor and you have to get her to the hospital, you are speeding for a good reason.. Should be an exception to the rule for certain reasons.. Again... The question is not specific enough..

That is why they come in here and ask how to beat a speeding ticket.


That is why they hate the Police.
Reply:In america people always want something for nothing.They always think that they are smarter than the next guy but when you deal with a law enforcrment official you are not.Thats why in most states now you have to have a ba degree before you can be an officer.
Reply:Because nobody is teaching personal responsibility any more. It's always someone else's fault.
Reply:Yes, stupid people are ""full of excuses"" no doubt about that! ""Isn't the stem of the problem"" their values""?? "" I would say that is why.


Their selfishness to think that they shouldn't have to be held accountable for wrong ,lying, deceitful. dishonest, and etc. bad behavior.





They sure do holler too when their caught or bring it to their attention. And if that don't work point the figure on something else that is the problem. .And if all else fails don't ever say it was wrong--say everyone does something wrong (like that excuses it)





Ridiculous -yes it is. And stupidity is abundant even with the so called educated. It is a value issue. And when stupidity is tied with lack of values it is harder to cure.
Reply:I had a wreck.  Another time, I called the police because my house was broken into.  And on Christmas Eve they stopped me because someone thought I was weaving on the road too much, so must be drunk.  (I was trying to get the tailgater behind me to pass, so pulled over toward the side of the road. Tailgater called the cops)





I admitted my fault freely in the wreck.  Did not get a ticket because nice cop saw the high snowbank that obstructed my vision.  He said he couldn't have seen that other car, either.They were very nice when they took the report of the robbery.Cop saw my point on why I'd been weaving.  No fun to be tailgated.  He saw that I wasn't drunk.  No ticket.





I could have gotten a ticket if I'd yelled and screamed and carried on when I'd had that wreck.  It was my fault, after all.


Again, could have had an unpleasant confrontation when I got stopped.





Cops are human. You treat them with respect, own up to whatever you have done, they respect you, too.

i have seen people do some things that are so dumb, that im surprised they even know how to breathe.......





its a terrible thing to say, i know, but if you've seen what i've seen, you'd know what i mean.......





but i think all stupid people should have to wear signs that say "im stupid"........





clearly......common sense isn't so common anymore
