I was terminated from my job, the company I worked for will not contest me receiving benefits.?

The state seems to fighting me tooth and nail. I was turned , so I filed an appeal. the company did not bother to show up. Once again I was turn down. Now I am appealing to the commission and waiting for the results. I have worked all my life and never got help from anyone. I need to go to school to make myself marketable so I don,t be in this position again. What are my chances.Look I am writing out of frustration. It is 1:30 am and my whole living situation is hanging in the balance. I have been in Tx. for three yrs and it appears as though the state is trying to make me homeless. I need help in a hurry . There is more to this story , I am just tired GOODNIGHT

Ok

Where u fm.. before Tx?

I lived worked in Las Colinas -irving in the Oracle building for a year. I got laid off.

But i was a Calif. citizen so my benefits kicked in. I only collected two checks because the I.T. Field was sizzling and i got another position back home in Cali.

Anyway, my advice is to go as far with the state as you can, but keep on trying to find a job. If you are going back to school you may want to Max out student loans for a semester or two while working part time (on campus?) like i did. then land a good part time job so you wont end up with a fat student loan bill.

Try a good, fast school program, depending on what you like to do.

hey, i thought if the company doesnt show up to prove that it was your fault, you win?
Reply:I've been there. Fighting this system is long, hard, and very frustrating, but it can be done successfully. I won my case. Try looking into any advocasy groups in your area. I found a legal group that was very helpful and they only requested a small percentage from my benefits, if I was awarded, and nothing if I lost.

I'm not sure if Texas has different requirements, each state may have it's own criteria for unemployment benefits, but doing a little research and making sure that you document your process are usually well worth the effort. Good Luck!
Reply:I am not a law expert but am sure a warranty can be issued demanding that the company appear in court or suffer the consequences. What was the main reason for your termination? If your case is good I think it will be heard. About going to school, am sure you can get an opportunity to land yourself a scholarship, based on the work experience you have, your previous qualification and any other relevant issue. Being homeless on the other part, I would suggest you get a part time job and get a cheaper house.
