Is Isaiah Thomas like Commodus from The Gladiator?

"Isiah Thomas says he has no plans to give up either role with Knicks"

Even though Commodus and Isaiah Thomas were both incompetent leaders, they fought tooth and nail to retain their power and feed their egos, even it meant the empires they were ruling over would be destroyed. Just like Commodus refused to let the respected war hero, General Maximus, become ruler of Rome, Isaiah will not give up his title as leader of the Knicks to a better coach and president.

Is Isaiah Thomas like Commodus from The Gladiator?
I'd say that Isiah Thomas is more like Lex Luthor from the 1978 Superman movie:

Luthor (played by Gene Hackman) had a tremendous ego and sought absolute power within his world. Isiah has a tremendous ego, refusing to relinquish his positions as coach and President of the Knicks. Luthor surrounded himself with buffoons as henchmen (paging Stephon Marbury) and treated the woman who worked for him like a piece of brainless eye candy, which, in the movie as in the courts, proved ultimately to be his undoing.
