Now please.. don't take this the wrong way for those of you who follow our President tooth and nail behind everything he says.
I'm actually not criticizing. I'm asking the question because I don't understand it and want an educated answer that'll help me to understand...
Are these two monies from separate funds? Is War money coming from a completely different source than for childrens health?
Whats so much more difficult about that money than the childrens money?
How is it that the money for childrens health 7 billion, annually, puts us in much more of a desparate crunch than the 455 we've spent in a little more than 5 years?
If there is so much money for the war..why can't some of that be used for childrens health?
Hows it easy for Bush to ask for $455 BILLION for war in 5 years %26amp; hard to ask for 7B for kids health annually
This is an extension of a program already in place providing health care to poor children. This extension would add middle class families making up to $80,000.00 to those eligible. It also extends the age of eligible "children" to 25 years old. It appears to me that the original intent of this program is being twisted into a form of socialized medicine. The President doesn't agree with this, and neither do I. I don't want to pay for middle class families who can afford their own health care, nor do I think 25 year old adults should be classified as "children".
Reply:Because what good is health care if we need to protect ourselves against the Jihad!?! We've got to make sure the children's ward at the hospital doesn't explode before we can allocate money towards it! We're pulling out ALL THE STOPS to fight the terrible terrorists, duncha know?!
Reply:Because Bush is finally starting to think. This bill is just a cheap way of trying to start the movement of socialize medicine. Democrats have all the tricks in the book.
Reply:The bill failed because it contained money for 'kids' up to age 25 as well as households making up to 80,000 per year.
Reply:They can easily afford it if they didn't lose 25% of the money that goes into DOD. 4 trillion+ has been lost since 2001.
Reply:Its not a matter of the money. Its the simple fact that a family that makes $80000+ per year can afford to pay for health care on their own. In addition it wasnt just money the Democrats asked for. They also tried to revise the program so that anyone 25 and under qualified. I am sorry, but if I dont want people spending a quarter of their life on a program thats supposed to be for poor families that cant afford health care coverage.
Reply:Because he wanted to prove how "relevent" he thought he still was.
Reply:I don't consider 25 year olds kids, sorry. You've bought into the propaganda. The bill is garbage. It wasn't vetoed to prevent "the children" from getting health care. It was vetoed because it was a ludicrous expansion to the old s-chip program.
Reply:easy, the people are not really forcing him to do so. We talk about this stuff but who is making him accountable. Or let me ask another way, who isnt making him accountable. We have become a lazy and content people.
and the fact that he has his head that far up his A__ is part of it.
Reply:Don't worry, many Americans are asking the same question now. In my opinion, the priorities of the president are insanely misplaced. I also think our president does not care anymore about what the people want from him because he is not sitting in the White House to please people but more so, to push his agenda up to the last minute of his term.
