Could this be related to high blood pressure?

My husband, whom is 37, has high blood pressure as well as high cholesterol, and a smoker, has in the last day developed purple hands which he says is painful. Could the purple hands have something to do with his high blood pressure? It's like pulling tooth and nail trying to get him to go to the doctor. I am really worried about him. Please help. thank you so much.

Just like people do have to go to the dentist if they want to keep their teeth,( or even if they loose their teeth and want new ones!), there comes a time when people JUST HAVE TO GO TO THE DOCTOR and your husband has reached one of those times. Nobody likes going to the doctor, but it is still a responsibility we have toward ourselves, our own lives and the ones we love. I'd ask your husband if he'd like to go now to the doctor to have his hands "fixed," or if he'd rather wait until the trip to the doctor gets his hands amputated. Ask him which he prefers and let him make his own choice--then he won't have anything to argue against if it's his own choice. This condition WILL NOT improve on its own. It will only get worse. It's just like with teeth. You can ignore a problem while it's small and refuse to go to the dentist, because you don't like to go, but sooner or later, the dentist MUST be seen if only to remove the tooth that was neglected. There's no way out of a visit to the doctor now. The only real question is how much use of hands does your husband want to have for the rest of his life. If he wants most or any use of his hands for the rest of his life, he needs to be in the doctor's office PRONTO, or ASAP.
Reply:Well anything that has turna different color isn't good. He needs to go to the doctor and get check out and make sure everything.
Reply:ur husband has developed a condition called

peripheral vascular disease or BURGER'S DISEASE common among SMOKERS!!

show him to a VASCULAR SURGEON

all the best
Reply:I think it maybe the oxygenated blood are low pressure and cannot deliver oxygen to his hand. However, its advisely to bring him to the doctor.

Otherwise, phone the doctor to come home.
Reply:It's definitely something that needs attending to. It's a sign he's not getting adequate blood flow to his peripherals. Folks with high bp often complain about chest tightness, dizziness, headaches, blurry vision, etc. I can't say it's high bp related, but probably cardiac related.

I'd get others involved, like a mother, brother or friend to encourage him to go. Sometimes they'll listen when it comes out of someone else's mouth.
