In Gaza, they have elected Hamas. In Lebanon, they elected Hezbollah... how can democracy really help in Iraq?

Bush made this big deal about democracy in Iraq but since then, the arab world has really shown Bush up... Hamas was elected in Palestine and Hezbollah was elected in Lebanon... All of Iran is behind their president and they would probably fight to the tooth and nail for him. these people did not seize power; they were given it. What can we do? If the people there are voting in favor of these "terrorist organizations," can anything short of killing all the members of either one of these fanatical religious groups (the Jews and the Muslims) ever bring peace to the region?





That seems to be what both sides are aiming for... either the complete destruction of Israel, or the complete destruction of those who want to destroy Israel.

All Israel wants is to live in peace. The terrorists want them dead. How are the Jews a fanatical religious group? Most Israelis are secular non-religious Jews. Seems you are making statements with no real facts.

Reply:There really can't be democracy anywhere in the ME because of the factional/tribal nature of the peoples that inahbit it. Aside from Israel an Egypt the rest of the countries consist of various factions--nomadic tribes that have been sparring for power over the centuries and continue doing so today. They'll only unite against the Christian-Western Nations...Otherwise they constantly infight. My feeling is that we could pull out now and allow Iraq to decline into Civil war, however the very Islamic Republic of IRAN would march right in there and usurp any autonomy that Iraq would enjoy if we did that. So we are stuck. PEACE!
Reply:Muslims want to live in an Islamic state. They also want to be ruled by someone who will defend them, hence the election of hamas the only group shown to be fighting for the lives and honour of palestinians. If the western powers continue to invade Islamic countries they will succeed in creating greater hostility

Afganistan has a constitution that has freedom of religion in it in that a person can not be killed for their faith.





Iraq will not put this in their constitution so there is not religious freedom yet. Under Islamic law people can be killed for their faith.





The people have voted for Islamic jihadists. If Lebanan actually was the USA with our constitution %26amp; Hesbollah was setting up their missiles, etc. in our streets aiming at Israel, we wouldn't look them kindly. We would put Hesbollah before the court system %26amp; they would be imprisoned. And put the missiles in a safe place. If I saw Hesbollah putting missiles in my neighborhood near my house, I would move away and not be a human shield for them. Same in the Gaza strip or West Bank. I would not vote for a terrorist group.





There will never be peace until these people repent to God for their wicked way, confess Jesus Christ their Lord, %26amp; God will heal their land.





Though Islam prophesies Israel will be destroyed and become nonexistant. The Bible God prophecied through His prophets, that Israel will be restored. Israel bourders are from the Egyptian River to the Euphraties River as a promise from God to Israel. Also prophecied is Egypt %26amp; Syria will repent to the Bible God and love the true God. Israel will be a third with Egypt %26amp; Syria. All saved by God's Grace. That is when there will be true peace in that region.





Before that can happen, the good news needs to preached %26amp; published around the globe. The good news that man can be reconciled to God through Jesus Christ His Son.





Islam calls for the destruction of Israel. The Lord God Almighty calls for the restoration of Israel. It is prophecied that the enemies of God's people will suffer the brunt of God's wrath.





I am a christian that supports Israel in prayer %26amp; claim God's promises to them. Each one that is written in the Word of God or is spoken to true believers in Him.





I ask christians all around to pray for Israel, %26amp; pray God's promises out loud in the Holy Spirit for Israel right now.
