Why did the dentist say that I can't have nail polish or jewelry when I get my wisdom teeth removed?

Cuz that's totally f***ed up

Why did the dentist say that I can't have nail polish or jewelry when I get my wisdom teeth removed?
because they need to see the color of your nails while you are under, believe it or not the color of your nails can tell a whole lot about your health and how well youre doing, and for the jewelry, its a safety thing, all jewelry has to be removed in case it interfers with the surgery, having your wisdom teeth removed is surgery , if they are impacted then the tooth has to be broken and dug out, you cant very well have a tongue piercing while they are trying to remove wisdom teeth, what if your earring gets caught on something, maybe theyre turning you over and it snags somethings and gets ripped out? its just safety and common sense to do so. it wont be such a big thing..
Reply:you cant have nail polish because they put a monitor on your finger, and in case anything goes wrong you cant have any jewelry in. its really not a big deal, just take off the polish and jewelry for 1 day thats it
Reply:They like you to have your jewlery off in case you loose something while in there you don't feel like someone may have stolen it. Just to keep you and them safe. And because they can't tell a person they can't wear certain jewlery as that is discrimination - such as the tongue ring and eyebrow rings (These get in the way of the surgery), it just keeps it simple for everyone concerned. The nail polish is because when they put the finger moniter on you for your heart rate and oxygen level the finger nail polish gives them false readings. Clear polish is fine just no colors to throw it off. It is only for a little while and when you get home you can put your jewelry back on and when you are feeling up to it maybe you can go to the salon and have your nails done as a treat to make you feel even better?!
