Tooth dying?

I recently got hit hard in the mouth with and albow while playing basketball. My lip swelled, and my teeth felt so bad. Like they hurt so much they felt numb. It is now 6 hours after the accident and it still hurts when i bite My nails or eat with my front teeth (the teeth that were hit.) I am afraid the nerve is dead because it hurts really badly. the tooth is not loose or anything, but i am still afraid.

Tooth dying?
You should get to the dentist as soon as possible.
Reply:in the mean time: let's address the obvious:

don't bite your nails (now is a good time to break the habit since it hurts to bite them)

don't bite into anything wiht your front teath... simply grind whatever you cna put into your mouth with your back teeth

if it hurts that bad go to a dentist

put ice on the tooth to numb the pain
Reply:Your front teeth aren't dead. It hurts because the trauma you had. You should go see a dentist. Maybe there's a crack in your teeth. If your front teeth are dead, you won't feel anything.

Maybe the trauma doesn't injure your teeth. Instead, it injures the gingiva or any soft tissue under your front teeth. Maybe it is the periodontal tissue that got injured. (Periodontal is something that holds your teeth into the gingiva).
