Nail biting....?

Please help!!! I'm in my early teens and I've been biting my nails since I got teeth. I also bite my cuticles, so it's not at all uncommon for my fingernails to be bloody little stumps. I have asked all my friends, and I have tried all their advice. NOTHING WORKS!!! I have tried Tabasco sauce, Bite No More, painting them, even putting Band-Aids on them. They are still to this day bloody little stumps. Can anyone please help???? I've been trying to stop for years.

Nail biting....?
I bit my nails for 30 years. Nothing I could do worked. Then one day I was asked to go somewhere. I told myself, "as long as I am there, I'm not going to bite my nails"... Each time I went to bite my nails, that came to my mind and I didn't bite them.

I kept giving myself little challenges like that. When I go here, I won't bite my nails. Until this or that happens I won't bite my nails... and in 3 months I was done. That was 20 years ago... And I still don't bite my nails... Hope it helps you...
Reply:I'm like that my mom bought this stuff that like nail Polish but if bite your nail it taste really bad
Reply:As soon as you start biting your nails, put your hands in your pockets or sit on them. You have to focus and have a lot of willpower to break a bad habit. Make sure that you control your body instead of your body controlling you.
Reply:my mom used to put this nasty alcoholic type polish over my nails taste like polish remover and ear wax) and i never bite them again
Reply:I'll tell you how i did it...COLD TURKEY!!!

I was a previous smoker, and quit 3 years ago cold turkey. This year I decided that I was going to STOP biting my nails. Actually, it was just last month. I have succedded :D

Just tell yourself you are going to do it, and you will become aware of when you start to put your fingers in your mouth.

If that doesn't work, you can always read the NASTY articles about how many diseases you can get from biting your nails!!!

GOOD LUCK :D
Reply:Why do you bite your nails? Boredom? Stress? Nervousness? something else? There's a reason. You need to identify the times/reasons why. Once you know that, you can find a solution that works.

Such as, if you're bored, find things to do so you're not bored.

The other way you might do it is analyze the things you do each day. Is there any spot where you don't bite your nails? Why? You're probably not in the same situation and there's no boredom, stress or nervousness. That's the solution.
