Why my tooth and half of my head of that side hurting so much?
Go back to the dentist! He/she should take care of this for you. They should also have someone available for you to ask emergency questions of, and emergency appointments reserved so you can get it taken care of right away. Good luck!
Reply:Take a pain reliever and make an appointment with the dentist as soon as possible....something is wrong.
Reply:Pain after root canal therapy is much less common than years ago. When it occurs, this discomfort is usually due to inflammation and infection around the tooth roots. The inflammation comes from the dental infection so it makes sense to place patients on antibiotics during treatment. In some cases, a steriod anti-inflammatory is prescribed to reduce the inflammation and settle the tooth down.

In years past, a root canal dentist did not exactly know how long a root canal really was since x-rays do not provide this information and that's all we used to have. Today, sonar root canal apex (end) locators can tell where the exact end of a root canal is located. This information reduces pain after root canal therapy because the dentist avoids accidentally sticking the sharp ends of metal root canal files out into the bone surrounding the ends of the tooth roots.

A tooth that has died often has a dental abscess around it that causes the tooth to rise up out of it's tooth socket. This high tooth hits first and gets beaten up badly with lots of discomfort. Our dentists purposely reduce the top of a tooth that is having endodontic treatment. This eliminates the high tooth problem and reduces the pain after root canal therapy from biting trauma. Since almost all teeth need a dental crown after endodontics, preforming this reduction actually assists with this later process.

Unfortunately, bad things sometimes happen to good people. There are risks with root canal therapy even with excellent dental treatment. Occasionally, root fractures occur in one or more of the tooth roots previously treated. This causes a low grade aching that doesn't go away and gets worse when patients are run down.
Reply:It could be that the endodontist did not get all the infection out. Go back to dentist to have another xray taken. If dentist not available because of weekend, go to er so they can at least give you some pain meds. But take some tylenol in the meantime till you can get some meds. Also could be that the bridge is out of occlussion meaning your bite may be off. A little bit of it being off can really cause alot of pain after awhile . It may just need to be adjusted.
Reply:CONTACT WITH DENTIST IMMEDIATELY
Reply:you should rub your teethes with mustered oil n salt gently
Reply:well the most obvious reason of pain after root canal treatment is if the dental infection has not faded away....it is quite possible that your dentist did right root canal treatment(because you were pain free for the first 30 days) but it might be possible that infection surrounding that tooth did not fade away(whenever root canal treatments are done, the infection inside the tooth is removed but abscess surrounding the tooth does not fade away almost abruptly,it takes its time in diminishing(antibiotics are given in such cases where slightly severe infections were present so that they could also help in diminishing infections)...

On the other hand,it is quite possible that the pain maybe due to ill-fitting bridge which may exert too much force on your concerned tooth...

at present get a prescription of an anti-inflamatory drug(panadol.etc.) from your doctor/dentist,so that temporarily the pain subsides...

second, try to observe the fact that does the pain originate only during eating. If so,then, try not to eat too much solid food from that side till a proper treatment is done or your pain fades away...

get yourself checked by the dentist(it is quite possible he would take an xray of it to take a look at the extend of infection.etc. and would treat it according to the problem...

so get an appointment of your dentist...best of luck
Reply:the tooth must be open immediately and retreatment must be done otherwise you have to take the tooth out
Reply:u have been eating too many sweets
Reply:Its infected. Get into the dentist right away!!! This happened to me with a wisdom tooth. It was so infected that they had to pull one of my molars out. I went from Oct to May with that pain. Its a pain like no other. Pain shoots from the area of the tooth right into the eyeball.. Not sure if you've got the same kind of pain but that is what I felt. Hope that you get it taken care of. Don't wait like I did,.. Goodluck!
Reply:Hi dont worry, that tooth which has been treated with root canal treatment would have got re-infected. That's why you ve got pain in that particular region and the infection may be spreading to one half of your face on the affected tooth side. Now visit a dentist immediately and he may remove the bridge and root canal treatment may be repeated or the infected tooth may be removed in total and a new bridge may be placed. Reply:i ts obvious that allready u have taken medicines during ur rct treatmeant, when preparing bridge he would have taken support of adjasent tooth ,health of that tooth has to be addressed ,if the hight of the bridge is not properly adjusted say some high points ,has to be correctd ,assuming ur dentist taken care of all this still ur getting pain indicating that pertcular tooth same half of head ,check the rct done tooth with x-ray,how many sitting were taken to doit, was the trtmnt painful ,not after so many days, medicins will be effective ,consult the dentits again,
