I had a jaw tooth surgically extracted?

on March the 7th of this year. I was coming out of my anethsia, and I felt the tooth being taken out. Anyway I had a piece of tooth or bone fragment still stuck in my gums, and I used my nail to remove it. Last week I felt another jagged piece of something, and last night I removed it. Looked like it was a piece of tooth or bone fragment. Since it is now July is this normal to have this happen?

I had a jaw tooth surgically extracted?
Yes drunkupwhatever it is normal. It's dead pieces of bone called sequestrae (pronounced suck-ques-tru) working their way out. In some difficult extraction cases where the doctor had to drill on the bone, it inevitably kills some bone with the heat generated. Over time it works itself out and you either pick it out yourself or see the dentist and he helps you get it out. If you didn't have a difficult extraction (difficult meaning involving the laying of a flap and using a drill to cut the tooth or remove bone), then you won't have them. That's why drunk guy didn't have any.
Reply:I'd say the dentist should've done this... Go see another one (not the one it sounds like did the surgery incorrectly).
Reply:yeah it is a bone spur sometimes it happens when you have a tooth pulled ...perfectly normal ..let it work itself out ...if it bugs you too much call your dentist
Reply:yes unfortunately it happens more often than not
Reply:I don't think this is normal at all. All of my wisdom teeth were extracted at different times in my life. After the surgery, did the surgeon not have you schedule a follow-up appointment a week later?

Mine always did to ensure that everything was healing properly. In fact, for one of the extractions, I had to return to his office a couple of extra times. I think you need to go back and see your surgeon to ensure everything is OK. If nothing else, I think it will give you some peace of mind.

Good Luck!
