I broke my f*king tooth! Now what?

Two weeks ago I literally fell flat on my face and my open mouth hit the pavement. Shockingly, even though it really really hurt, the front tooth that I hit didn't chip or break.

Today, I was biting my nails when a large chunk of that same tooth broke off into my hand. I'm going to the dentist tommorow.

What are they going to do to fix it?

I broke my f*king tooth! Now what?
Be prepared for possible Root Canal treatment that may be needed due to the trauma. The nerve may not be exposed, but the damage could be enough to irritate the pulp (nerve).

If this is the case, a post will be needed along with a crown (cap) to restore the tooth.

BTW, I learned in dental school that there are Incisor, Bicuspid, and Molar teeth, but no f*king ones!!!!!!!!!! :o)

(Sorry, I just had to throw that in -- good luck with your appointment. Hope it goes easy for you).
Reply:File it off even or cap it.
Reply:this happened to my sister but in a fight... if there is enough tooth left they can build off the tooth and make a new fake one and its looks so real. or they could pull and and make a totally new one. either way you dont have to worry about going around with a missing tooth! :)
Reply:they are going to fill it in with enamel and polish it until it looks like ur regular tooth
Reply:they are probably going to fill ur tooth with this really white stuff
Reply:i was in an accident and had a similar problem, they put a fill on the tooth you don't even notice it, it looks like every other tooth
Reply:when i broke my front tooth off the gave me a fake one
Reply:theyll cement a cap on it. pretty much imagine the peice that broke off copied, and glued onto the reminder of the tooth. it looks fine. if u get close up u can see that your tooth will be two diff colors, but no one will know unless u point it out. my friend chipped his tooth about 5 years ago and has had the cap replaced so many times they dont even charge him for the replacements anymore. its a standard procedure, dont woory about it
Reply:As long as you still have it, the dentist can often "cement" it right back on. Someone I know had a similar problem, and their tooth is fine today. Just don't loose the piece that broke off! Good luck at the dentist!
Reply:go to the dentist and have it capped for a couple of days the dentist will put on a plastic one (temporary) but for permanent tooth capping he will replace it will a porcellaine tooth.
Reply:they'll giv u a cap 4 yer pearly white
Reply:HELLO,

TOO BAD THIS HAPPENED. REMEMBER NEVER, EVER CHEW YOUR NAILS HAVING HAD ANY DENTAL REPAIRS.

HOW THEY WILL FIX IT DEPENDS ON WHAT YOU BRING IN FOR THE DENTIST TO FIX.
Reply:fill the part thats missing up. if its more complicated a fake tooth or a crown
Reply:They (The Dentists) might fix it.
