Has your kid ever lost a tooth, really lost it. and you had to find it???

just happened to me with

me absolute first kiddo.

she lost her first tooth at school, and a big old whopppdee doo followed. The second tooth was LOST. I smashed one of her clam shells, and glued two tiny pieces together. filed em with one of my nail files.... instant perfect tooth!!!

Tell her the tooth fairy was quicker to get the tooth than you and come up with some cash. However, your creativity is awesome and I am still laughing.

How did you explained the smashed clam shell?

Mom's usually have the right answers.

Sending you a star for the creativity and laugh.
Reply:It's a lot less labor intensive to write a quick note to the tooth fairy and leave it out by the glass of water or pillow. I have it on good authority that the tooth fairy is capable of locating lost teeth. At least the one who visits my kids is.
Reply:That cracks me up. I wouldn't have thought to do that. I would have had to go looking for my wisdom teeth (yes, I still have all four in the little bag the surgeon gave me), and smashing one and trying to get a piece that looked like a baby tooth.

I don't have any kids, but some friends of ours were presented with a fait accompli once: their daughter told them she'd lost a tooth, and had already hidden it really well so that only the tooth fairy could find it.

They ended up waiting for her to fall asleep, then moved her into their bed and tore her room apart looking for the damn tooth. It took them about an hour to find it hidden, and to replace it with the money from the tooth fairy. They had just recently moved, and all the boxes weren't unpacked yet, and they were soooo grateful, because if all of her stuff had been out, they'd have been up all night looking for her special hiding place. (It was in a play diaper bag she had for her favorite baby doll.)
Reply:Now why did you dramatize a lie. Would it not have been safer to say that the tooth fairy Knows tooth is lost and will reward you anyway. So if it happens again are you going to destroy something else of HERS. Does she believe in Santa Clause. I wonder HOW your'e going to handle that one. You see how a lie can haunt you forever since your child will repeat the same lies you tell. Childern's Fanasty are wonderful you must be careful how you tell them and most importantly how they end. Sadly but Surely they must end.
Reply:well technically im a teenager and have no kids but i have actually "lost" a tooth because we were on vacation(i was 8) and we were eating dinner, i had a loose tooth, when i was little i always checked my teeth for being loose and when they were i wouldn't stop checking up on them, after taking a bite of food and swallowed it i checked my tooth and it was gone, i didn't think i swallowed it so i went on the floor to check if it fell, i checked for a while and everyone (my family, ppl at other tables and waitresses and well anyone at the restaurant) there was looking at me on the floor and then i relized i wouldn't find it so i must have swallowed it and then i felt really grossed out but it was fun while it lasted!
Reply:Good job. I would have told her the tooth fairy could find it wherever it was!
Reply:That's awful. I have been fortunate enough to have both of my son's teeth when they feel out. My sister's step son on the other hand has swallowed both of his teeth that have fallen out. Needless to say, she did not try to retrieve them.

Just tell her that the tooth fairy knows where all teeth are in the world and she will find the tooth and reward her accordingly. Poor thing.
Reply:No, it isn't something I have had to do. You are very ingenious, if that is the right word (clever)
