My dog fights me tooth and nail when it is time to trim his nails, he squirms and fights to get away. It usually takes me about a hour to trim them fighting the whole time. I found out by accident today how to do it with no trouble at all. While standing in front of a mirror, Hold the dog under one arm, with your free hand use your clippers to trim his nails. I don't know why it worked but it did, my dig didn't move a muscle and it was over in 3 minutes. Try it and let me know if if works for you.
I found the soloution. Who has a dog that doesn't like his Nails trimmed?
What I did is bought a cheap treadmill and coated the track with sand grit. After a mile of walking the dog's nails are wore down.
Reply:Wow, I will have to try that. I'm wore out after trying to clip my dogs nails.
Reply:my dog hates it too.. i will definetaly try it thanx
Reply:LOL, don't think that will work with my 60 lb bassets.....
Good thing they don't mind having their nails done.
Congratulations for finding something that works for you!
Reply:I would like to know what kind of dog do you have.
Reply:my pup weighs 35 lbs, I can't hold him with one arm and trim with the other lol! but congrats on working it out! With mine, I've been doing ONE nail a day, and he gets a BIG treat after it. Now he throws his paw at me when I get the clippers out... still will only let me do one or two though... baby steps!
Reply:mine. She hates it.She always snaps at me when i try. But what works is pretend to be doing something else she doesnt mind and secretly cut her nails.Example: I pretend to brush her. After awhile i sneak the nail clipper out and clip her nails. it works most of the time
Reply:thanks, it worked for me .plus, just to say you are CUTE!
Reply:My dog is fascinated by mirrors. I think this is a great idea.
Reply:Maybe your dog saw it's reflection and thought, well, if that dog can do it, I can too. Or maybe he or she wanted to play tough for "the other dog" (his/her reflection)
Just a thought. I'll have to have my mom try that with her puppy. If you train them from the beginning to let you trim their nails you won't have any problems. But he's too little to have learned yet. I helped her trim his nails last weekend. I held him, she cut. I had scratches all over my neck from him trying to get away. But We got it done fairly quickly. He's tiny so it's pretty easy to hold him still.
Good Luck with your dog!
Reply:Thanks, I'll try that. Have a mirror on the floor. They're a little large for he vanity. I can't wait to try it.
Reply:my sister has a dog named cookie who hates anyone touching or clipping her nails. the 1st time my aunt cut her nails, one of them were cut 2 short and it bled. she has been terrified of the clippers every since. i will try that though. thanks 4 your help. = )
Reply:I had a pug(rescued from a shelter) who was terrible at nail cutting time, I use to tie him up on a short leash and hold a treat just out of his reach, as he tryed to get the treat I'd clip his nails... If only people would spend time playing with the nails and paws of puppies and get them use to the nail clippers then no one would have a problem. My cocker spainel lays on his back and often falls asleep when I cut his nails! I'm glad you found an easy way to clip your dogs nails, and I'll definatly try it for my next hard to nail clip dog!
Reply:wow i will have to try that my dogs hate to get their nails clipped.
Reply:I have someone else help me.
they hold her down like they do in the vets and then i cut.
Reply:THANKS i hope it works for me to but if not HAPPY THANKSGIVING anyway

Is it possible to sharpen teeth and strengthen jaw muscles to use in a fight?
i guess this question seems a little out there, but there's a practical reason; i'm not that strong, i'm young, fairly attractive, white (more or less, half spanish) and i have no gang affiliation, which from what i understand would make me a prized possesion if i was ever in jail. there's no way i'm ever gonna submit to rape however, so i wanna be able bite a d**k clear off in the event one gets in the vicinity of my mouth. also on the topic of fighting tooth and nail (literally), would you be allowed to file your nails to a sharp point in jail?

how about not getting yourself in a situation where you will be sent to jail? I'm 36 and I've managed to stay out of jail. But it probably doesn't take to much force to chomp one of those things off. And believe me. You might get the first one off but after that they just punch all the teeth out of your head and then go for the other end. That may be worse. Or you may like it. Who knows these days?
Reply:You shouldn't even think about things like this!
Reply:that is a silly question.
1. Don't end up in jail
2. if you do and you get in the described position, you would not dare bit the offending organ off... they would kill you on the spot (otherwise none of them would have there parts cause it is very easy to bite off with just normal teeth)

How do I cut the nails of my Rabbits?
I tried all kinds of positions as far as holding them, my friend holds him and I tried to cut their nails but they kick and fight us tooth and nail. Is there any solution on accomplishing this goal? Thanks
How do I cut the nails of my Rabbits?
We always had a heck of a time with our buns, we ended up with a 3 person method... my sister would hold the rabbit, secured in a towel, on her lap, my husband would wrap a wash cloth around the buns foot and hold it firmly (not too firmly) and I would clip using a larger (human) toe nail scissors (trying to get that nail in the hole of a cat clipper was just too hard, lol) It was an hour ordeal with 2 rabbits, but it was worth it. :)
Reply:solution here take it to a veternariann as a pet wanted it done the right way??
Reply:If your rabbits fight you that much when you try to clip their nails, it would be better to take them to a veterinarian to let them do it. It can be dangerous to try to clip your rabbits nails when he's struggling and you don't have a good grip on him. You could easily cut too far or even rip out the whole nail. I say it's better to let a veterinarian handle it. That's what I always do for my rabbit. Look in the phone book for one that is experienced with small animals.
Reply:Put a towel over their heads so they can't see (something that won't suffocate them, though), and they'll be much calmer. They may still kick if you clip too much, though, so be on your guard. It might help to swaddle them except for the leg you're working on at the time if he's still very active, but the towel over the head works wonders.
Reply:Set him on a towel, then wrap him up in the towel and flip him over, making sure the towel covers his eyes. They're quite docile when they can't see. Rest him on your knees/lap with a friend holding him steady, then take the nail clippers and get it done pretty fast.
As long as he can't see when you flip him over, you should be okay. My rabbit used to be a psychopath with this too - a friend introduced this way and it's much easier. Best of luck.
Reply:you need to get a pair of pet nail clippers.....the type that have a hole and you slip the nail through and squeeze the handles and it cuts it- i would go to your vet the first time and have them show you how far down is safe (if you cut too far it will bleed) plus you will probably need to tranquilize it- they will be able to weigh the rabbit to find the correct amt of tranq needed. Then from there on out when you need to trim it's nails you just call the vet say you need a tranq and after you pick it up you give the rabbit the shot in the scruff of the neck and wait about 2 minutes for it to kick in and I wrap mine in a towel and clip away!
Reply:Try wrapping them up in a towel. You can then pull one leg out and clip the nails.
Also work with them on touching their feet and legs.
Hope this helps

I burned the roof of my mouth about a month ago. It's healing...a little sensitive but it's HARD like a tooth
When I tapped directly on the hard part, there is NO FEELING at all...out of curiosity I pushed my nail on it and there was no dent, no pain (until it slid off and pushed onto the softer part) what does this mean? Iv burned my mouth before and this has never happened

That hard part may be your palatal torus, which is normal. It's a boney protruberance on your palate, and really doesn't do any harm. The only reason you would need to have it removed would be if it was in the the way of dentures.

Mouth sores generally last 10 to 14 days, even if you don't do anything. They sometimes last up to 6 weeks. The following steps can make you feel better:
Gargle with cool water or eat popsicles. This is particularly helpful if you have a mouth burn.
Avoid hot beverages and foods, spicy and salty foods, and citrus.
Take pain relievers like acetaminophen.
Call your doctor if:
The sore begins soon after you start a new medication
You have large white patches on the roof of your mouth or your tongue (this may be thrush or another type of lesion)
Your mouth sore lasts longer than 2 weeks
You are immunocompromised (for example, from HIV or cancer)
You have other symptoms like fever, skin rash, drooling, or difficulty swallowing

My teeth cracked?
ok i had fillings on my top molar tooth and my bottom molar tooth on my left side.
the filling got out like a few months ago from eating hard foods but the dentist was like the fillings not supposed to pop out or something. so he re filled it and now i can feel the molars and i feel a crack a or a line on the side of the tooth. like i run my nail across and intead of a smooth tooth my nail runs into a ridge or something. does that mean its cracked? if it is what should i do to avoid the tooth from getting worse?
My teeth cracked?
It could be the line where the filling and tooth meet. Also, it could be a fracture of the tooth. I would call my dentist and have it checked. Good Luck!

How do i cut my rabbits bottom tooth, it is not much thicker than a match-stick.?
Can i use some form of pliers or nail clippers?
How do i cut my rabbits bottom tooth, it is not much thicker than a match-stick.?
yea dont do this yourself. Actually if it isnt misshapen or hurting the animal i wonder why you would want to cut it.
Reply:Take him to the vet, they wont hurt him.
Reply:GO TO A VET IF YOU TALKING ABOUT A REAL RABBIT .IF YOU DO IT YOUSELF YOU COULD HIT A NERVE AND HE WILL BE IN PAIN AND NOT EAT THEN HE WILL DIE BE DEAD UNDERSTAND THAT
Reply:Under no circumstances (short of saving a weakened rabbit’s life), should the teeth be clipped with shears or pliers. The teeth have the consistency of glass and shatter – often below the gum line. Some veterinarians and most dentists have the equipment and expertise to smoothly cut the teeth into proper alignment. If the problem is not corrected, the Rabbit looses weight and mouth infections and abscesses occur. So take it to the vet first..
Reply:take them to the vet and you dont cut them they shorten them
Reply:You take your rabbit to vet and after the vet trims down it's teeth put something in it's cage to gnaw on, rabbits chew on stuff to gnaw down there teeth. My rabbit has all kinds of stuff to keep his teeth gnawed down.

Is the Bush sweatshops the final nail in the coffin of impeachment?
Bush has outsourced domestic spying to sweatshops full of Yeti's and aliens. Is this impeachable?
Tooth fairy and Easter Bunny blew up WTC.
I understand the chupacabra is no longer illegally crossing our southern border because of this high paying opportunity.

not really because the Brits have been doing the same thing with unicorns and sea monkeys.

what impeachment?? you can't impeach a president for doing his job....period...
the dems know that...and that is why they haven't done it....it would really turn the country against them to impeach a sitting president in a time of war...who has done NOTHING...
they tried to impeach Cheny...and didn't that backfire on them? *lol*
